Since 2021, I have been a faculty member at CMS Mindfulness Center in Toronto. I introduced MBCT teacher training to the Chinese community. By 2024, nearly 100 teachers completed our online training during the pandemic.
I wanted to create a face-to-face meeting opportunity for these teachers. Last year, some teachers in Hangzhou established the Warm Village Mindfulness Center, the perfect meeting spot.
We planned a three-day workshop:
Learning: Enhancing mindfulness teaching and inquiry skills.
Practice: Developing personal abilities and embodied presence.
The highlight was seeing each other in person, enjoying tea, meals, and conversations.
Highlights of the Workshop:
Day 1: Introduction and sharing "mindfulness gifts," including special items for five-sense practice.
Day 2: Classical mindfulness teachings by Master Guoying, meditation, and walking meditation at Liangzhu Park.
Day 3: Techniques for leading mindfulness and embodiment exercises, with role-playing and group discussions.
The event concluded with a sense of connection and gratitude, leaving everyone inspired and eager for future gatherings.
Post-Workshop Activity:
A group visited Jingshan Temple for further mindfulness experiences, such as scripture copying and tea tasting.
Overall, the three-day workshop was enriching, fostering deep connections and mindfulness practice.
Invitation:
Join our MBCT teacher training program and become part of our mindfulness community.
